Meet Kanica

Kanica (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with over 10 years of clinical experience supporting the mental health and well-being of children, adolescents, adults, and families. She is known for her warm, approachable, and non-judgmental style, helping clients feel comfortable and understood while working toward meaningful change.
Kanica has specialized training and expertise in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) across both paediatric and adult populations. She uses evidence-based approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to help clients reduce anxiety, manage intrusive thoughts, and build confidence in navigating uncertainty.
In addition to her clinical work, Kanica provides parenting support and psychoeducation, helping caregivers strengthen relationships with their children, foster emotional connection, and implement effective strategies at home.
Kanica also serves as a clinical supervisor and mentor at Milton Psychotherapy Centre, where she supports and trains clinical interns as they develop their therapeutic skills and professional identities. She is passionate about creating a supportive, reflective, and growth-oriented environment for emerging therapists.
Her broader clinical expertise includes working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, interpersonal difficulties, performance and school-related stress, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and self-esteem challenges. She draws from CBT, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), SNAP (Stop Now and Plan), creative and play-based approaches, and talk therapy to tailor treatment to each client’s needs and goals. Kanica is currently pursuing her Emotion Focused Therapy certification for working with individuals and families.
When she’s not meeting with clients, Kanica is known to be highly competitive during board games and enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughter in Halton.
Kanica is able to offer services in English and Punjabi.
