Lorraine Imbarlina-Ramos (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, and a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. With over 20 years of clinical experience, Lorraine has supported individuals, couples, and families through many seasons of life, helping teens (13+) and adults navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, stress, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, and grief and loss.
Lorraine’s work is grounded in the belief that people heal best when they feel safe, understood, and supported. Clients often share that they feel a sense of relief in sessions, describing greater emotional calm, improved coping skills, and a clearer understanding of their thoughts and feelings. Over time, many notice they are responding to stress more gently, communicating more openly with loved ones, and feeling more confident in their ability to manage life’s challenges.
Her therapeutic approach is flexible and collaborative, shaped by each client’s unique needs and goals. Lorraine draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Family Systems Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based interventions.
Lorraine is experienced in providing couples therapy and has completed Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy training. She is currently progressing through Level 2 training to further enhance her skills. Lorraine guides partners navigating conflicts in communication, co-parenting, and family dynamics, providing a steady, supportive, and empathetic environment. Couples who work with Lorraine develop strategies to deepen emotional closeness, foster mutual insight, and build a more secure and resilient partnership.
Therapy with Lorraine often feels both supportive and grounding, offering practical tools while also making space for reflection, growth, and healing. Lorraine considers it a true privilege to be invited into her clients’ stories. She offers a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients can move at their own pace and feel genuinely heard. Her thoughtful, kind, and down-to-earth style helps clients feel comfortable opening up, even when conversations feel difficult.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply longing for things to feel more manageable, Lorraine believes you don’t have to navigate it alone. Reaching out for support is a meaningful first step, and she is honoured to walk alongside clients as they work toward greater balance, resilience, and a more fulfilling life.
Outside of work, Lorraine enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, collecting music, curating playlists, and connecting with friends and family.
