Kathy (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Yorkville University Intern who is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.  Kathy has a special interest in supporting children (7+), teens, and adults who are experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, or life transitions.  Kathy is invested in supporting individuals who may be struggling with parent-child attachment, couples attachment, communication challenges, relationship difficulties, and emotion regulation.   As a mother of two, Kathy has lived experience understanding the joys and challenges of parenthood, and is passionate about empowering other parents to advocate for their child’s needs within school systems.

When working with Kathy, you will notice her open and inviting personality immediately.  She is affirming of those who identify as highly sensitive, neurodiverse (ex. ADHD),  and is most mindful of creating a safe space for her clients to be vulnerable so that their unique voice can be heard throughout their journey in therapy.  She is an active listener, patient and compassionate. Kathy is an ambitious, passionate individual who strongly advocates for setting goals and challenging one’s comfort zone. During her internship, Kathy has taken a specialized interest in developing her competency in working with children and adults with ADHD, as well as couples who struggle to navigate the impact of ADHD within their relationship.

Kathy is drawn to psychotherapy treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy (NT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MBCBT), and Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples.

Working under the Supervision of our Lead Therapist and Registered Social Worker, Jana Venditti, Kathy is providing low cost therapy to clients at this time.
