Colette Young (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with over 20 years of experience working as a high school educator. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, through Yorkville University and has joined our team as a Clinical Intern.  She brings this rich background in supporting children and youth into her therapeutic practice, working with children (7+), teens, adults, and couples.

Colette offers support for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, educational transitions, peer relationships, grief, school anxiety/avoidance, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and neurodivergence, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and social skills development. With adults, she is especially attuned to challenges such as perinatal and postnatal transitions, the early stages of parenthood, life transitions, and personal or professional burnout.

For families navigating separation or divorce, Colette provides guidance in setting healthy boundaries, improving communication, and fostering stability during periods of change. She also supports young athletes, drawing on her own background as a pre-professional dancer, Colette helps clients build resilience, mental toughness, and a healthy athletic performance mindset.

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) when working with couples. Above all, she provides a person-centred and humanistic space where clients feel understood, empowered, and supported in their growth.

Outside of her professional role, Colette is a married mother of two children who enjoys spending time in nature, being outdoors with family and friends, and appreciates a healthy dose of sarcasm from time to time. She is fully bilingual and can offer services in both English and French.

While she is fulfilling her practicum requirements, Colette will be working under the clinical supervision of Kanica Coshal, MSW, RSW.  Colette’s services are being offered at a reduced rate.
