Jess Dinsmore (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She offers a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for children (ages 7+), teens, and adults navigating life’s challenges. With a calm, introverted presence and a friendly demeanour, Jess works collaboratively to support clients through a variety of concerns, including, anxiety, emotional regulation, low mood, low self-esteem, life transitions, family difficulties, self-harm, bullying, and relationship or communication difficulties.
She is especially passionate about helping teens and young adults as they navigate the complexities of change and personal growth during transitional periods.
Jess works with individuals on the autism spectrum and those with ADHD, including supporting parents and families navigating neurodiversity and the complexities of parenting neurodivergent children. She is committed to supporting children, teens, and their parents by fostering understanding, communication, and connection. She helps clients deepen awareness of their emotions, needs, and personal experiences, while helping parents communicate with their children.
Drawing from Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Jess tailors each session to meet the unique needs of her clients. She values genuine connection and also honours the importance of personal space and reflection; a balance she brings into her therapeutic work.
Outside of her clinical work, Jess enjoys spending time in nature, travelling, connecting with family and friends, and getting lost in a good fiction novel.
Jess is currently accepting new clients and looks forward to building trusting, empowering relationships on the journey toward personal growth and healing.
