Liz (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Liz completed a Bachelor of Arts from York University, and began working in the insurance field and eventually established a career as a disability case manager, focusing on complex mental health cases. After several years of working in the disability management field and listening to clients' stories about struggles with mental health, Liz decided to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.

Liz specializes in working with children (10+), teens, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, mood challenges, motivation, perfectionism, grief, and trauma recovery.  She is skilled at supporting women and children who have experienced interpersonal violence, relational trauma, sexual abuse, systemic oppression, and substance use.   Liz's clients have described a sense of relief, and release.  They often report feeling validated and valued throughout their sessions.

Liz is passionate about her work with trauma recovery and is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and has completed her Brainspotting Level 1 training.  Read more about EMDR.  Read More about Brainspotting.

Liz particularly loves supporting her clients achieve their goals through accountability and partnership within the therapy process.  Through consistency, Liz's clients can rediscover a sense of joy and accomplishment in their lives.

Liz firmly believes in the philosophy of individuals seeking therapeutic connections to feel heard, find significance in dilemmas, and discover ways to cope. Counselling aims to deliver support to individuals grappling with challenges. A fundamental value in Liz's approach is founding and sustaining a robust therapeutic relationship.

A counselling setting is a safe and non-judgmental place. By listening to a client's story, Liz will understand how to best support their needs. Hers is a flexible approach, and any changes to the therapeutic course of action are a part of the process.

Outside of counselling, Liz volunteers with the Townsend Smith Foundation, and Halton Women's Centre.  She enjoys spending time with her family: her spouse and two teenaged children. Liz also values the benefits of physical activity and keeping strong relationships with friends.

If your benefits provider does not offer reimbursement for Registered Psychotherapy, Liz can provide services under the Supervision of a Registered Social Worker.
